I'm a PostDoc working in Mathematical Physics, specialized on Many-Body Quantum Systems and Condensed Matter.
I work on the mathematically rigorous derivation of effective equations for interacting many-body systems. Examples are the Gross-Pitaevskii and Bogoliubov theories of Bose-Einstein condensates, Hartree-Fock theory for fermionic many-body systems, spin wave theory for the ferromagnetic Heisenberg model, and the random phase approximation describing emergent bosonic excitations in the Fermi gas.

Vienna is well connected to most of Europe by rail. Trains include ICEs, Railjets and a number of night trains. I particularly recommend to travel in a sleeper compartment on an ÖBB Nightjet to arrive to Vienna comfortably and with a small carbon footprint. Night train connections include Hamburg, Zurich, Düsseldorf, Rome, Milan, Moscow, Nice, Warschau, Krakau and Kiev.
In Vienna, take the subway to station "Heiligenstadt". Step out the subway station's main entrance, turn right and walk about 100m to find the stop where the IST shuttle bus departs.
